before flying out for a shoot, i squeezed in a studio session for a young woman who requested some formal yet creative shots in advance of her Quinceañera celebration. in addition to photographing her in the studio, i will have the opportunity to cover the upcoming Quinceañera event, as well as a family member’s own wedding at a later date this summer.
i’m a sucker for great architecture, both modern and historic. when i stepped inside this gem of a building, i saw fine details which immediately reminded me of the magnificent spaces i photographed for years. in preparation for an upcoming event, i toured the facility with a client and the Club’s catering manager. I always find it rare to feel coziness within grand rooms, but this place makes it happen.
today i worked with a choreographer to create a variety of portraits. of the many backgrounds i have available, she chose one of the most vibrant, and it worked quite well with the energy she brought to the shoot. during the shoot we stepped away from under the studio strobes got some of the best shots sitting in the window, making use of the natural light.
