Happy Thanksgiving to all my lovely brides and grooms, including Jason and Kristen who were recently married!

Subscribe to my blog for more wedding photos from Kristen and Jason’s big day. You don’t want to miss photos I will be posting of a stop at a hot dog stand, an impromptu conga line at a cupcake bakery, and loads more fun.
Tara and Sam: a wedding too beautiful for words. Honestly, I have no words to describe how lovely everything about this day was. Congratulations you guys.

Beth and Scott’s Prairie Productions wedding was a blast! They started the day getting ready at the historic Palmer House Hotel, which I thought was a perfect way for their families who came in from Iowa to experience the city’s history. We hopped on a trolley and headed over to their wedding ceremony venue. Their church does not allow flash photography, but the windows allow for some great light to come in. After they tied the knot, we got back on the trolley and headed to the park for some photos of the bridal party. I thought the orange and purple color combination worked great with the autumn foliage. Before heading over to Prairie Production, they stopped in with their bridesmaids and groomsmen to their favorite neighborhood Irish pub for a quick pint. Beth and Scott had the biggest smiles as they were surrounded by so many friends and family. I’m not quite sure how many people were at their wedding but everything came together perfectly at this amazing West Loop venue. While it is a photo studio, on the weekends it doubles as an ultra modern loft-like wedding venue. It fits about 150-200 people comfortably and in the warmer months, they have a really cool outdoor space for ceremonies and cocktail hours. Style Matters kept the dance floor jammed for the entire reception.

Beth was just flawless on her wedding day wasn’t she?

Here is a shot of Beth looking pretty in the beautiful lobby at the Palmer House.
She sees her dad before heading on the trolley to go get married…
and picks up her elegant bouquet before walking down the aisle.
It is a dark church, but she shines so radiant walking down the aisle towards Scott.

Purple and orange are complimentary colors and were perfect for this fall wedding.

It was that perfect time of day where the warm sunset spilled amazing light on everyone!

I love when brides and grooms allow for time on their wedding day to hit their favorite spots. This was the Irish pub we went to.
Over the last few years, so many couples have gone with highly sought after modern unique spaces. They are popping up in every major city and I love it! Boston has the Artists for Humanity Epicenter and the Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts in the South End. Chicago has nearly a dozen new, offbeat locations for weddings. Below is the reception room at Prairie Production.

Boston’s leading local wedding blog Beantown Bride, recently featured one of my photos. Beantown Bride is a resource for brides-to-be planning luxury weddings in and around Boston. It is such an inspiring blog, helping brides create exceptional weddings. This particular photo is from a Andrea and Lou’s winter wedding. They had their Greek wedding ceremony at Kings Chapel with a reception following at the nearby Omni Parker Hotel in downtown Boston.
I have several weddings coming up at the Omni Parker for 2011. If you are looking for a rooftop wedding venue that has Boston skyline views, either the Omni Hotel or Taj Boston are your best bets and are two of the best spots if you want to incorporate historical elements into your reception. Nearby across the river in Cambridge, the newly renovated, ultra modern Meridien Cambridge MIT Hotel has a fabulous outdoor terrace too.
Here is a nice photo for you today…. I love how the late afternoon sun painted its way through the pillars forming a pattern of alternating cool and warm tones.

It was a beautiful wedding, just about flawless really… until I convinced the bride to climb a bridge resulting in one of her wedding shoes slipping off falling into the river. I will post photos of that soon, I promise!
Here is a naughty photo for you…. taken during bridal party introductions.

Cindy and Pete met in and will be married in Charleston, South Carolina. While we met for photos around some scenic spots in the city, my favorite photos from our shoot were taken indoors at one of the first bars they visited in their new city. I had a great time learning about their connection together and what made them such a unique couple. They ran a marathon together in Barbados, how cool is that??

Things are looking a bit brighter for gay unions in Illinois. Megan and Emilia are so committed to the love that they share, regardless the tangled political and religious debates on the issue that we hear about in the news. They marched forward and organized a wedding to celebrate their love, and it was awesome! As I type this, there is some serious momentum in Illinois as the governor has backed efforts approve gay civil unions. Change is always a bumpy ride, but I am hopeful our society can grow to accept equality for all. I recently got a call from Emilia and Megan’s friends from Bermuda and Chicago, and was invited to photograph another same sex wedding in Toronto Ontario!
