Night engagement shoots are often shied away from by a lot of couples, but they are often my favorite. Griffin and Patricia are having their upcoming wedding this summer at The University Club of Portland. My shoot with them took place on the one rainy day in Chicago as night was approaching. Because the rain began to taper off and the temperature was changing, the fog rolled right in. Just like Marta and William’s engagement session in the fall, the fog was a wonderful addition to work with.I love what twilight fog does to the lighting of a photograph. Trish and Griffin were natural in front of the camera.
So you get an idea of what we were working with for Griffin and Trish’s session, here is a photo of the skyline in the fog shot from the North Pond Restaurant in Lincoln Park.
It started to quickly get dark out, but that makes the photos way more interesting.
After shooting at

The brilliant colors, intricate designs, and energetic dancing was so fun to photograph.
The dancing was one of the most memorable parts of the evening to photograph. The bride and groom enjoyed a moment together on the swing as their friends and family danced in celebration.
