The Fairmont Copley Plaza hosts lots of gorgeous wedding ceremonies and receptions in the Grand Ballroom. During the planning stages of the wedding, I met with Liza and her mother to learn more what parts of photography was important to them. Having a Fairmont Copley Plaza Grand Ballroom Wedding deremony & reception was an easy choice because of how stunningly beautiful the ballrooms, lobby, and renovated suites are. For Liza and her then fiance Andrew, having a classic Boston wedding was the goal as they were living in Los Angeles at the time. We talked a bit about what the family loved in terms of photography, and it was very important to capture the intimacy and emotion throughout what might be a very fast-paced day. The wedding day was beautiful and we were able to step outside to create a spectacular set of cadid photos and portraits. The wedding ceremony and reception took place in the glamorous Grand Ballroom at the historic Fairmont Copley Plaza. Liza’s sister sang a song alongside the live band Search Party for the first dance. All the ballrooms at the Fairmont Copley Plaza have their own unique qualities but they all have one thing in common – absolute elegance.

Today there may be nothing that captures your heart more fully than Erin and Dean’s wedding at the Omni Parker House Hotel in downtown Boston, I wanted to create images that would stay relevant and beautiful. Erin and Dean held an elegant reception at the stunning rooftop ballroom, where guests mingled and enjoyed food and dancing. When the folks at Omni Hotels and Resorts caught wind of such a gorgeous wedding, they asked if they could feature it on blog on their main website. How delightful! While this wedding was photographed in color, black and white images worked perfectly for such a historic wedding venue. One of my favorite things about the Omni Parker House is the city views from their ballroom that spans the entire 15th floor. As one of Boston’s premier wedding venues, at the Omni Parker House you will find turn of the century elegance in a state of the art hotel, which also happens to be not only one of the oldest hotels in America but was the hotel where John F. Kennedy proposed to Jackie! There is so much history at this gem of a hotel, and this wedding will surely be remembered for decades by the guests that celebrated with Erin and Dean.

A huge thank you to Neda and Elizabeth for selecting me as their wedding photographer! They are such a fun couple that smiles every time they look at each other. A few weeks ago these two awesome ladies were lucky enough to have the best weather for an unforgettable wedding ceremony on a rooftop garden. Since I have already had Megan & Emilia’s and Liza & Nia’s weddings showcased on the popular gay wedding blog SoYoureEnGAYged, and great vendor reviews on GayWeddings.com, it was no surprise that Neda and Elizabeth chose to work with me. In the weeks leading up to their big day, I got to learn about the couple and their journey through doing an engagement shoot with them and was excited to shoot their hot pink wedding. This is just one of many photos from their wedding that I am going to share. Subscribe to see more photos when they are ready!
Heather phoned me from the Washington DC area looking for a photographer for a wedding at Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center. She and Mike are very interested in the arts and incorporated so much creativity and art into their wedding ceremony and reception. Everything from the art-related venue to the individually hand-painted wedding favors was related to art. I am looking forward to sharing this awesome wedding. Right now, here is a sneak peek!

Ashley and David at Smith Barn on their wedding day!
Here’s how they connected! Robbie & Karen got married at Smith Barn. Another bride named Annie flipped though the pages of The Knot Magazine and saw their wedding I shot. She recognized Robbie from Hebrew school, and hired me to photograph her wedding on Martha’s Vineyard at the Allen Farm Sheep & Wool Co. Annie married Pete, and the Rabbi David who officiated the ceremony contacted me to hire me to photograph his marriage to Ashley. Their beautiful wedding took place at the same barn where Robbie and Karen held their ceremony and reception. I can only presume someone at Ashley and David’s wedding will be getting married at the Allen Farm Sheep & Wool Co. to keep this awesome circle going!

Not long ago, I photographed Whitney and Ian’s wedding at Boston’s Fairmont Copley Plaza. Days ago, I photographed Andrew and Liza’s wedding ceremony and reception which took place in the luxurious Grand Ballroom of the same hotel. Each ballroom at the Fairmont Copley Plaza has its own special qualities. Whether you are having an intimate wedding in the St. James Room or large wedding in the Grand Ballroom, the hotel is home to Boston’s most elegant reception event spaces! If you follow the hotel on Facebook, you might have already seen the newly renovated suites too. Liza began her wedding day getting ready on the top floor with Lindsay Griffin Boston Hairstylist and Tara from Tada Makeup. I will have more photos to share, so if you’d like to stay up to date subscribe to the blog by clicking here. Congrats Liza and Andrew on your marriage.

King’s Chapel Boston weddings are some of my favorite to photograph. King’s Chapel in Boston is a church that dates back to 1686. Loaded with history that includes a bell that was re-cast by Paul Revere, it was the oldest church I have ever shot a wedding in. King’s Chapel states their photography policy as follows: “in keeping with the solemnity of the marriage ceremony, we would be most appreciative if you would make certain that your photographer and guests understand that there is to be absolutely no flash photography.” Because of this, there were no arms waving mobile phones into the aisle making attempts to get a shot of the bride. Every couple deserves unobstructed photos of the processional, so if you are reading this and are invited to a wedding, your iPhone or blackberry shouldn’t make an appearance in church wedding photos. Different churches have varying photography policies. Some churches require the professional photographer to keep behind the congregation or to not stand in the center aisle even during the processional. It is important to understand the rules of your ceremony site and understand how it may impact your professional wedding photography or guest photography.
