This beauty is was handmade in New Zealand using a smooth classic leather. While it was a Christmas time wedding with lots of festive holiday colors in red and green, I opted for navy blue. Why? The bridesmaids wore navy blue, and the reception room shared the same color. It was supplied in an upgraded display box with simple, modern embossing on the front cover. The craftsmanship and customization options on these wedding albums are unmatched. This particular Queensberry contains Duo pages. The blend of flushmount and matted images has gotten so popular because it combines a current trend with an option that will always remain timeless.

Queensberry Albums Designer | The Process

This afternoon on Skype, I brainstormed with my New Orleans bride Annie on layouts for the Queensberry Album for she and her husband Pete chose to invest in. Screen-sharing comes in so handy! We have a great mix of flushmount and matted pages together in one album to tell the story of their day. Annie watched as I arranged photos, nudging them over millimeter by millimeter, completely customizing each layout. She was able to see the difference between a well-designed pages of strong images versus cluttered layouts that had quantity over quality. Right now, the couple is reviewing their layout proofs and will make revisions if necessary. Once I get their revisions back, I will implement them into the layouts. A final proofing will be given to them to check that each photo is exactly what they want. I also make sure my clients double check all spelling and finish options before sending the album off to the Queensberry Albums bindery in Auckland, New Zealand. From there, photographic prints are made using traditional silver halide technology on Kodak Endura Lustre stock. This means they are real photos and not press-printed. The photos are hand-checked and cut to order. Each print is added to the thick pages by hand and the covers are custom-bound to order.

Queensberry Wedding Albums – Pantone loves Tangerine

Queensberry Wedding Albums – Pantone loves Tangerine and so does Claire and Andrew. At their Newport wedding, they pulled off a nautical theme with a tangerine twist. Tangerine is a more radiant red-orange. It has been offered by my bespoke album bindery Queensberry Albums since before it went viral this year with Pantone’s recent love affair. Queensberry Wedding Albums | Chicago wedding photographer Heather Parker

Queensberry Albums are the wedding albums I offer my clients. Just like it took you a while to find the perfect relationship, it took a while for me to find the perfect album bindery. I was finding that a lot of my couples had mixed feelings on deciding between matted or flushmount. Often times, a groom wanted a timeless matted album that from a trend standpoint wouldn’t look dated in 20 years, and a bride wanted a flush mount album which is very “in” right now. The great thing about Queensberry is that, being 100% customizable, they offered a mix between the flushmount and the matted called Duo. What I have found is that most of my clients enjoy a mostly matted album, and for a few pages, they do a full-page flushmount photo. Queensberry also offers pages that unfold which is a big hit.

You might remember Jaqui and John’s InterContinental wedding. They came to Chicago from Melbourne, Australia to get married before heading to South Africa for their honeymoon. I designed their wedding album layout and had them review their album. Skype meetings were the norm for working with on another continent. On a trip back to the States, the groom picked up their album. Its such a great feeling seeing people relive their wedding through turning pages of an album. Queensberry Wedding Albums | Buckram Covers

Queensberry Wedding Albums is in my opinion the finest wedding album company in the world. My clients hire me to not only create storytelling images of their wedding day, but also to present the finest bespoke hand-crafted wedding albums that are going to last for generations. While flushmount albums are a big trend right now, I also believe there is a real desire for simple timeless style. We are all familiar with what a plain black leather wedding album looks like, so I wanted to share some photos of what the Queensberry Buckram covers look like.

To start off the wedding album, I chose to use a photo that was taken at a wedding during a first look. The pages are done in matted pagemount style. A page mount allows there to be a border around the photograph. Many couples choose an ivory border but for this album, red was used to highlight the colorful wedding. During the wedding reception, there can be many heartfelt and entertaining surprises. In this album layout, the groom played a song on the piano and sang to his new bride. She was truly surprised. Not even I knew this was going to happen at the reception.

A series of toasts were made before the entertainment began. Cousins of all ages choreographed a special dance to do for the bride and groom.

Each photo size can be completely custom, and all layout designs are created to tell the story in a way that is as unique as each wedding.

The final page of this album displays a photo of the couple holding hands. This shot was actually taken during the wedding reception when the newlyweds were watching the dancers and family members entertain them.
