A gorgeous wedding at the InterContinental Hotel

January 28, 2011

A gorgeous wedding at the InterContinental Hotel – here you have it! Melbourne Australia to Chicago to South Africa was the route Jacqui and John took around the time of their destination wedding. I had met with them last year as they traveled thousands of miles in planning for their upcoming downtown celebration. Before the wedding, I met with Jacqui and John for a few photos. We braved the snow and chatted about their wedding. I was so excited to be working with them. I arrived at the Intercontinental Hotel Presidential Suite to photograph bridal preparations. Their ceremony was held at one of my favorite cathedrals in the city. After a beautiful mass, we headed around town for bridal party photos (which even included a snowball fight!) before arriving back at the InterContinental Hotel for their cocktail hour and reception. After the wedding, the newlyweds spent some time in the United States with their friends and families before heading to South Africa for their honeymoon.

When it was built in 1929, it was considered an engineering feat because it was above ground, holding 120,000 gallons of water.black bridesmaid dress with red bouquet for christmas weddingDilly Lily wedding florist brides flowerscandid bridepinspot lighting design by Frost Lighting for weddingsfloral centerpieces in red and white for Christmasbride and mother at wedding reception in the Renaissance Ballroom toastsBoston wedding photographer and chicago wedding photographyHeather Parker Photography Boston wedding photographersintercontinental wedding reception venuewedding photographers Heather Parker Photography reviews available on Yelp and wedding wirewedding photos intercontinental hotel reception room photos intercontinentalDon Cagen Orchestra wedding band
